Junior Pathway
To aid the development of young golfers we have developed a Junior Progression Process. This is a 5 stage process for Girls and 7 stage for Boys by which Juniors can develop their skills and confidence with appropriate playing challenges and competitions. This is backed up by group coaching from our resident Junior Coach Ronnie Martin all year round.
For each stage that the progression standard is achieved the junior is awarded a certificate at the end of season prizegiving.
Stage 1 - Absolute Beginner
Absolute beginners receive Coaching from our Junior Coach Ronnie Martin.
Juniors are continually assessed by Ronnie and he will advise them when they are ready to join Falkirk Golf Clubs Antonine Par 3 Golf Course.
Stage 2 - Antonine Par 3 Academy Course
Juniors join our Antonine Par 3 Academy Golf Course, receive a 9 hole handicap and play in our weekly Competitions.
At this stage Juniors must be supervised by a Parent/Adult who will help them with the filling in of the scorecards.
When Juniors have attained a 9 hole handicap of 9 they will progress along our Pathway to Stage 3 (Centurion Course).
Stage 3 - Centurion Course - Blue Tees
The Centurion Course is out on our main course. We have placed Junior Blue Tees further up the fairway and Juniors once again receive a 9 hole handicap and play in our weekly competitions.
When Juniors have attained a handicap of 14 they will progress along our Pathway to the Stage 4 (Mariner Course).
Stage 4 - Mariner Course - Red Tees
The Mariner Course is a CONGU measured Course and Juniors will receive an Official CONGU Handicap once they have posted scorecards for 54 holes.
Once our Junior Boys have attained a course handicap of 18 they will progress along our Pathway to Stage 5 (Carmuirs Course).
Stage 5 - Carmuirs Course - Yellow Tees
Junior will play in our weekly Junior Competitions from the Yellow Tees and once they have attained a course handicap of 14 they will progress along our Pathway to Stage 6 (Kelpie Course).
Stage 6 - Kelpie Course - White Tees
Juniors continue to play in our weekly competitions working on reducing their handicaps and once they attain a course handicap of 9 they can progress along our Pathway to Stage 7 which is Junior/Senior Status.
Stage 7 - Junior/Senior Status
Junior/Senior Status permits Juniors to play in Gents Competitions at the club.
For each stage that the progression standard is achieved the junior is awarded a certificate at the end of season prizegiving.
